In November of 2018, when Dozer was about 6 months old. He found himself in a Kentucky shelter. Thirty minutes before he was scheduled to be euthanized, they reached out to us and asked us if we would take her. We had to give him a chance.

We learned from the University of Illinois Veterinary School Neurology department that Dozer had fractured his spine in two places. He is permanently paralyzed, but he is doing what is called spinal walking, and is already learning to walk for short distances. He does manage to get around great in the house by a combination of walking and scooting and in his wheelchair while out and about.
Dozer has now been with us for a year in a loving foster home, but he’s ready for his forever one! He does have special needs. He’s incontinent and needs his bladder expressed and diapers changed 4 times a day. He is also on medication and needs routine checkups. He is currently receiving acupuncture treatments. You need to be able to lift him (50 lbs). You can apply for him and we can set up a time to meet and discuss his needs more specifically. He is very good with other dogs and likes to chase the cats, but doesn’t do anything to them.
We need your support! You can donate to his campaign. Follow him on Facebook and Instagram (dozerGFR) and Snapchat (dozerGFR).
